PRAYER GATHERING AT CANADIAN MARTYRS PARISH ON JULY 24

As Canadians and as Catholics, we are all invited to walk the path of reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples. Join us at Canadian Martyrs church, 100 Main Street, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, for a half-hour prayer service for reconciliation as Pope Francis’ visit to Canada begins.

MASS AND PRAYER AT ST. JOSEPH’S PARISH ON JULY 28

Please join us for noon mass at St. Joe’s parish, 151 Laurier Ave. E., on Thursday, July 28, where we will offer our prayers of support and intercession for the Pope’s visit. Afterwards, we will gather for a short time of discussion, fellowship and prayerful support over a coffee. If you have any questions, please

Kateri Native Ministry of Ottawa is very pleased to have Métis Jigger Brad Lafortune joining us for our monthly Kateri Mass this Saturday June 11 at St. Basil’s Parish. All are welcome to attend. Below there is a video profile of Brad.

We would like to say Miigwetch to St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Elementary School for raising over $3400 for the Kateri Native Ministry of Ottawa.

Kateri Native Ministry of Ottawa hosted a Kateri Mass at St. Joseph’s parish. It was an honor to be welcomed so enthusiastically by the community. The mass had the highest attendance at the parish since the beginning of the pandemic.

Kateri Native Ministry of Ottawa will be running a retreat for theology students at Saint Paul University. This is part of an ongoing partnership with the university and the Kateri Native Ministry of Ottawa. The students will get to participate in ceremony and be taught by a group of elders.

This past week a delegation of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit leaders met with Pope Francis in Rome. The delegation concluded with the full delegation having an audience with Pope Francis. The video of this audience can be found here.
